Physician Spotlight: Dr. Seth Kleinbeck
When Seth Kleinbeck enters his exam room, he often looks worse off than his patients. It’s not unusual for the six-foot-two-inch doctor to come in hobbling on an injured leg, with a black eye or sporting stitches for deep gashes on his face. His patients take it in stride, often proudly. They know that besides being a family physician for rural Hazen and Stuttgart, their doctor is also a professional mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter.

Although it is its own sub-field, the principles of mindful eating can work in concert with several other healthy diet and weight loss regimens.

No Quick Fix for Arkansas’ Obesity Epidemic
The terms “lithe,” “svelte” and “fit” probably aren’t among the first to come to mind when thinking of Arkansans. Adult obesity is a massive problem in the state, and disagreements about treatments among weight-loss physicians are rampant.

But now Kossover, the BreastCare program contract and accounts manager for the Arkansas Department of Health (ADH), makes sure she eats healthy foods and exercises at least 30 minutes every day. She has a compelling new incentive: earning more time off to be with her grandchildren.
